Graphius opts for chemistry-free printing plates
Graphius Group lowers its ecological footprint and opts for ECO3's Adamas chemistry-free offset printing plates.
As a leading international player in the graphics sector, Graphius strives for sustainable production, among other things by making conscious choices in every step of the production process. "Choosing ECO3's Adamas chemistry-free printing plates fits in perfectly with this and ensures that our print preparation becomes a whole lot greener," says CEO Denis Geers. "Specifically, we will reduce our waste stream generated by the liquids from plate preparation by no less than 50%. The choice for the Adamas plate has to do with the ecological advantages and the performance of the product itself on the one hand, but on the other hand it was also important for us to choose a partner with production capacity in Europe. After all, transport also has a major ecological impact."
Frederik Dehing, Global Head of Sales at ECO3, confirms, "With our Adamas chemistry-free offset plates, our customers are taking an important step when it comes to sustainability. In the case of Graphius Group, this not only means saving hundreds of thousands of liters of water, they also avoid using large amounts of corosive developing fluids because the Adamas plates require no rinse water and are washed out with a very limited amount of pH-neutral gum."
ECO3 is headquartered in Belgium. For the European market, it produces its offset plates in Germany. "At ECO3, we have opted for a global production infrastructure that includes a strong leg in Europe. This is a conscious choice aimed at ensuring maximum deliverability of our products to our customers. I am pleased that Graphius Group also attaches great importance to this," concludes Dehing.
With an annual consumption of almost 500,000 m² of aluminum printing plates, Graphius Group is among the very largest printing groups in Europe. After printing, the high-quality aluminum offset plates are recycled and can be more than 99% reused.
