En Route – a coffee-table book that maps out the world of Sweco
How do you bring together hundreds of complex infrastructure, mobility and sustainability projects into a single coherent narrative? With En Route, communications agency Bridgeneers has produced an impressive book of over 450 pages for Sweco. Rather than grouping projects by discipline, the team opted for thematic routes that take the reader on a journey through nature reserves, hospitals, waterways, industry and urban developments in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg. Interviews, infographics and striking photography give the projects a human face and make En Route an inspiring overview of Sweco’s social impact.

Collaboration with Graphius
We combined the tactile and the sensory into a pleasing whole: the roughness of the cover, the smoothness of the varnish, the embossing, the warmth of uncoated paper. Call it a quest for graphic umami.
Technical Specifications
En Route is a lavish 456-page coffee-table book in a 300 × 300 mm format. The interior was printed on Offset White 170 g/m², an uncoated paper that gives the photography a warm, natural look. The cover has been enhanced with intaglio printing and varnish, creating subtle embossing and contrasts that elevate the book to a higher level, both visually and tactilely. The result is a high-quality publication that perfectly reflects Sweco’s ambition and quality.
