Overview

Young V&A

The energy of a museum on paper

There are museums you visit. And there are museums you experience. The Young V&A in London firmly belongs to the latter category. Since its opening in 2023, following a thorough transformation of the former Museum of Childhood, the museum has become an inspiring place where children and families discover art, design and creativity at their own pace.

That philosophy also formed the starting point for the accompanying book. Not a traditional museum catalogue, but a playful and tactile object that evokes the same curiosity and sense of wonder as a visit to the Young V&A itself.

Client: Victoria and Albert Museum

Collaboration with Graphius

The discussions with Graphius began early in the design process. And they remained creative. Those discussions were fundamental to how the project evolved. The printing options didn’t just support the design; they helped shape it.

Technical Specifications

The book was printed on Arena Natural Bulk 120 g/m² and has dimensions of 165 x 220 mm. The 188 pages combine playful content with a high-quality finish. The tactile choice of paper, the screen-printed linen cover and the striking colour on the edge enhance the book’s character as a physical object. The result is a publication that not only provides information about Young V&A, but also brings the museum’s curiosity, energy and creativity to life.
